Have you ever been to a conference and heard a keynote speaker who did a great job of sharing a clear message while keeping your attention? Well, I’m the coach that trains that speaker. My name is Dr. Penny Joyner Waddell, but my friends call me “The SpeechShark!”
I specialize in leading workshops for local, national, and global industries with topics that range from leadership to workplace communication skills. My training and development workshops are designed specifically for each company and will target topics identified as areas needed for personal and corporate growth.

My Approach
Training and Development Workshops:
Before meeting with your employees for a Professional Development Workshop, I’ll meet with your administrators to discover areas of improvement needed to help your staff become workplace-ready. Whether they need public speaking skills, healthy workplace relationships, ways to approach challenging relationships, effective workplace communication skills, or leadership skills, I have the experience and expertise to share content in an interactive and energetic workshop that will help participants learn and retain realistic and proven strategies for the workplace.
Conference Speaker:
As an award-winning instructor for technical and career education, I’m often asked to be a keynote or session speaker for various educational conferences. The topics I present can be directly related to the conference themes or may follow any number of public speaking, workplace communication skills, or leadership topics. I’ve spoken at conferences all over the United States and would embrace the opportunity to work with your conference to create a memorable and interactive experience for participants.
Writing and Delivering Speeches:
For 25 years, I’ve helped speakers learn to craft speeches using professional speechwriter strategies. Then, we work together to improve delivery skills so that your verbal and nonverbal messages deliver content in a way that keeps the audience wanting more. These tools help as you write, prepare, rehearse, and present speeches confidently.
Tell your story:
Be clear, confident, and concise as you learn to introduce yourself, easily take part in conversations, ask questions, answer questions, and develop an elevator pitch that will WOW those around you.
